Fosse in Film

A fun programme of films directed by Bob Fosse, funded by Leeds Inspired and supported by Scalarama Leeds Festival 2019. On researching for this strand, I came across much troubling information about Fosse, which transformed this programme into an opportunity to understand how do we (I) feel about our favourite, yet problematic artists, and how to engage with their work going forward.

Lenny (1974) 14 September 2019 at Hyde Park Picture House partnered with Hyde Park Picture House’s Creatures of the Night strand and Scalarama Leeds.

All That Jazz (1979) 26 September 2019 at Riley Theatre partnered with Northern School of Contemporary Dance and Scalarama Leeds. With post-film discussion on power and exploitation in dance with special guests, Pauline Mayers, Rachel Johnson and Janet Smith.

Sweet Charity (1969) 1 December 2019 at Hyde Park Picture House partnered with Hyde Park Picture House and BFI Musicals.
